
Marilyn Jamain grew up in the Mount Airy section of the Greater Philadelphia area. She attended the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science graduating cum laude in 1976. During that time, she studied abroad in Rouen, France, where she became fluent in French.
Marilyn then attended Temple University School of Law, in Philadelphia, PA where she attained her Juris Doctor degree in 1979. While a law student, she worked as an intern for the Temple University Legal Clinic and for Community Legal Services.

Her professional experience started at the Central Ohio Legal Aid Society, Newark, Ohio, where she was a Staff Attorney representing the indigent population in civil matters, including domestic and juvenile law. Marilyn concentrated on representing victims of spousal abuse and was instrumental in training the local police on the newly enacted Domestic Violence Act.
She next worked as an attorney with Hyatt Legal Services in Columbus, Ohio, and in Philadelphia, PA. She represented clients in a variety of civil and criminal matters with a concentration in domestic law and civil disputes. She litigated cases in both Municipal Courts and Common Pleas Court.
Marilyn next directed the General Legal Services Department at Markowitz and Richman in Philadelphia, where she actively represented clients in a variety of matters, including Workers’ Compensation, Personal Injury, Family law disputes, Wills and Estates, and Social Security Disability. In this role, she litigated matters in jury trials and arbitrations in the Common Pleas Court in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties.
After leaving Markowitz and Richman, she partnered with several attorneys and formed the firm Cleary and Josem, LLP. Marilyn developed and managed the firm’s Workers’ Compensation, Personal Injury, and Estate Department in Philadelphia. Marilyn was responsible for a volume caseload and supervised the department staff. She represented clients throughout Eastern Pennsylvania before State Court Judges and the Workers’ Compensation Judges, the Appeal Board, and in the Commonwealth Court. Marilyn also litigated Social Security cases in both the Federal Administrative Courts and in Federal District Court.
Marilyn next took a position with Pond, Lehocky, Stern, & Giordano, of Philadelphia, where she has assisted and continues to assist in the transition of cases and hearing coverage. While fulfilling these roles, Marilyn prepared Workers’ Compensation training sessions for a variety of unions in Pennsylvania.
Beyond her exemplary professional credentials, Marilyn has been active in a number of community organizations in Bucks and Lehigh County. She served as the President of a Woman’s Investment Club from 1998-2004; as a member of the Board of Directors of Montgomery Citizen Advocacy from 2003-2004; a participant in Philadelphia Building and Construction Trade Council Safe Workplace meetings; a Speaker at Business Scholarship Fund Dinners; and as a Student Mentor and Supervisor for Drexel University Earle Mack School of Law Co-op program from 2009 through 2012.
Additionally, she presented multiple cultural and educational sessions for area elementary schools through the 1990s, participated in High School mock trial programs, and took part in multiple activities and fund-raising events for the American Cancer Society and the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Marilyn has also been a member of the Montgomery County French Club.
In 2021, Marilyn founded her own practice, Jamain Law, where her main office is in Chalfont, Pennsylvania. Marilyn has continued to focus her efforts on her core strengths of Workers’ Compensation, Personal Injury cases and on Family Estate Law, where she specializes in Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Advanced Directives.
